Terms of Use

Version 1.0 Effective: 09/01/2025

Plain‑English summary of the rules for using our website and member portals. This is not legal advice—please have your counsel review before publishing.

1) Acceptance of These Terms

By using our website, the ETA Student/Parent/Partner portals, forms, or any linked services (collectively, the “Services”), you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

2) Eligibility & Accounts

- The public website is open to visitors. Member portals are for authorized users only (e.g., students, parents/guardians, nonprofit partners).
- If you are under 18, your parent/guardian must consent to your participation where required.
- You are responsible for any activity under your access, including safeguarding IDs, QR codes, or passwords.

3) Program Portals & IDs (SID/PID)

- Students and partners may receive unique identifiers (e.g., SID for Student ID, PID for Partner ID).
- Do not share these identifiers publicly. If you suspect misuse, contact us so we can re‑issue credentials.
- Some links may add your ID as a query parameter (for example ?sid=...) to route your activity correctly.

4) Permitted & Prohibited Uses

Permitted: access the Services for program participation, submit truthful information, and communicate respectfully.
Prohibited: attempt to break security; falsify data (hours, funds, documents); harass or harm others; upload content you do not have rights to; use the Services for illegal purposes.

We may suspend or terminate access for violations or risks to safety/operations.

5) Intellectual Property

All content on the Services (logos, designs, text, graphics, code) is owned by us or licensed to us and protected by law. You may not copy, modify, or distribute it without permission, except for personal, non‑commercial use as allowed by law.

You grant us a non‑exclusive license to use it to operate the program (e.g., review, store, display, and share with service providers under contract). We may remove content that violates these Terms or the law.

7) Third‑Party Links & Services

The Services may link to tools or sites we don’t control (forms, calendars, file uploads). Their terms and privacy notices apply. We are not responsible for third‑party content or practices.

8) Privacy

Our Privacy Notice explains what personal information we collect and how we use, share, and protect it. By using the Services, you consent to those practices. If you are a parent/guardian, you may have additional rights regarding a minor’s information. (If you operate in schools or serve children under 13, confirm FERPA/COPPA obligations with counsel.)
