Information you provide to us

  • Form submissions (interest forms, applications, event registrations)

  • Donation details (amount, dedication text, contact info for receipts)

  • Member Area accounts (name, email, password via Squarespace’s auth)

  • Device and usage data (IP address, browser, pages visited, timestamps)

  • Cookies and similar technologies used for site functionality and analytics

Information from service providers

  • Payment processors (e.g., Stripe/PayPal) provide us with payment status and non-card metadata; we do not receive or store full card numbers.

  • Email, hosting, and analytics providers may supply operational logs or deliverability data.

How we use information

  • Operate and improve our site, forms, Member Areas, and donor experience

  • Process donations, send receipts/thank-you notes, and manage records

  • Communicate about programs, events, and opportunities (you can unsubscribe)

  • Maintain safety, security, and legal compliance

  • Produce aggregate, de-identified reports about program impact (no personal names)

Legal bases for EEA/UK visitors (where applicable): consent, contract performance, legitimate interests, and legal obligations.

How we share information

  • We do not sell personal information. We share it only with:

  • Service providers that help run ETA (website hosting via Squarespace, email providers, payment processors like Stripe/PayPal, analytics, cloud storage). They may use data only to provide their services to ETA.

  • Legal or safety needs (e.g., to comply with law, enforce terms, or protect rights).

  • With your direction (e.g., when you publicly share a testimonial).

Cookies & analytics

We use cookies for:

  • Essential functions (login/session for Member Areas)

  • Analytics (to understand site use and improve content)

Do Not Track: our services do not currently respond to DNT signals.

Donations & payments

Donations are processed by third-party payment processors (e.g., Stripe or PayPal). Your card data is handled by them under their security and privacy certifications; we receive only confirmation and limited transaction details needed for records and receipts.

Member Areas (Student, Parent, Nonprofit)

If you create or are invited to a Member Area, we process your login and profile information to provide access to private resources. Some content may be viewable by other members in the same area (e.g., shared announcements). For children and students, see the Kids & Student Privacy Policy for additional protections and parental consent.

Children’s privacy

We take extra care with minors. See our Kids & Student Privacy Policy for how we collect, use, and obtain parental consent for children’s data. If you believe we collected a child’s personal information without proper consent, contact us and we’ll address it promptly.

Your choices & rights

  • Email preferences: click Unsubscribe in our emails or contact us.

  • Access, update, delete: email info@empoweredtoachieve.org to request access, correction, or deletion of your information (subject to legal/recordkeeping limits).

  • California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, and ask about categories of data we collect and disclose. We do not sell personal information. Submit requests at info@empoweredtoachieve.org.

Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for operations, donor records, program reporting, and legal/accounting obligations. When no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards (encrypted transport, access controls, and least-privilege practices). No method is 100% secure; contact us immediately if you suspect an issue.

International visitors

Your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate. If you are in the EEA/UK, we rely on lawful bases and, where needed, appropriate transfer safeguards.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll adjust the “Last updated” date and, when appropriate, provide additional notice.
